Waterproof, Pet-Proof, and Stunningly Realistic
Forget the shiny, plastic-looking vinyl of the past. Today’s Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) and Tile (LVT) are high-tech marvels designed for the way we actually live. Whether you are tracking in melting snow from a powder day at Eldora or have a Golden Retriever who thinks the hallway is a race track, LVP handles it all without flinching. At Right This Way Flooring, we specialize in premium “Rigid Core” vinyl that gives you the visual warmth of wide-plank hardwood with the waterproof armor of a submarine.

Finally, Flooring That Works With Your Life
100% waterproof, scratch and dent proof, zero maintenance, comfortable underfoot, climate stable.
Colorado winters mean wet boots. Unlike hardwood (which stains) or laminate (which swells), luxury vinyl is 100% waterproof. You can mop up that puddle of melted snow hours later, and your floor will be perfectly fine.
Basements in Erie, Lafayette, and Broomfield sit on shifting soils. Because LVP is typically installed as a “floating floor,” it can handle slight subfloor movement and moisture from the concrete slab better than almost any other material.
Tile is durable but freezing cold on winter mornings. LVP stays closer to room temperature and is softer underfoot, making it the smarter choice for kitchens and living areas where you stand for hours.
Hardwood is the gold standard for ROI, but it requires babying. LVP gives you 95% of the aesthetic—including textured grain and beveled edges—at a lower price point and with zero anxiety about water damage or humidity control.
Older laminate was notorious for swelling at the seams if a dishwasher leaked. Modern LVP uses a stone-polymer (SPC) or wood-polymer (WPC) core that is impervious to water. If a pipe bursts, you can often pull up the LVP, dry the subfloor, and reinstall it.
Tile is permanent and hard. LVP is much faster (and cheaper) to install because there is no grout to dry or crack. Plus, if you drop a plate on LVP, the plate might survive; on tile, it shatters.
The most popular style right now mimics the Scandinavian “raw wood” look. It brightens up basements and hides dust perfectly.
We are seeing a surge in Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) that looks like slate or travertine (12″x24″ rectangles) for laundry rooms and entryways. You get the slate look without the cold feet
Homeowners are asking for “20 mil wear layers”—commercial grade durability that ensures the floor looks brand new even with three kids and two dogs running laps.
LVP has a click-lock mechanism that is precise. If your subfloor has dips or humps (common in older Longmont homes), the lock can break. We spend extra time grinding high spots and filling low spots to ensure a flat canvas.
While LVP is stable, we still recommend letting it sit in your home for 24-48 hours. This prevents “thermal shock” if the planks were stored in a freezing warehouse before install.
We don’t take shortcuts. We slice the bottom of your door casings so the vinyl slides underneath for a clean, custom look—no ugly caulk gaps.
In areas with expansive soils (like Superior/Rock Creek), a floating LVP floor is safer than glued-down tile because it can move slightly as the house settles, preventing cracks.
While no floor is scratch-proof, Rigid Core LVP is incredibly resistant. The wear layer acts like a shield against dog claws and toy cars.
South-facing windows in Colorado are intense. We recommend SPC (Stone Polymer Core) vinyl for sunny rooms because it is more heat-stable and resists fading better than older flexible vinyls.
Red wine? Coffee? Mud? Wipe it up. LVP doesn’t have pores like grout or wood, so it doesn’t hold stains or odors.
Price includes complete waterproof protection.
Not anymore. “Rigid Core” (SPC) vinyl is actually mostly limestone dust mixed with polymers. It feels solid, heavy, and substantial—not hollow or plastic-y like the old sheet vinyl from the 90s.
Yes. High-quality LVP is now considered a premium finish, especially in basements and family homes. Buyers love “maintenance-free” living.
Often, yes! As long as your existing tile or linoleum is flat and securely adhered, we can usually float LVP right over the top, saving you the mess and cost of demolition.
The wear layer is the clear protective coating on top. For a standard home, 12 mil is fine. for a busy home with pets, we recommend 20 mil or higher. We’ll help you pick the right armor for your lifestyle.
We only sell FloorScore® Certified vinyls. This means they are tested for low VOCs and are safe for your family and pets. No weird chemical smells.

“When my family and I moved into our new home we decided to replace the carpet with something more modern and elegant. The team was great. Even though we had already furnished some of the rooms with brand new furniture the installers moved everything and put it back in it’s place. We love the results and highly recommend working with this team!”
